The Specific Psychological Support for Clients with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

The article provides the criteria for post-traumatic stress disorder, describes its pathokinesis and peculiarities, draws attention on the ways of coping and dominant psychological defense in case of psychological trauma. Three methods of psychological assistance and rehabilitation of violence victims are discussed, as well as main techniques of psychologist-consultant work. The author analyses typical mistakes of the psychologist with this category of clients.
