Abstract
The publication discusses the issues of providing an effective system of involving financial resources in the economy of the region. The value of investment funds as a special format of transformation of savings into investments is shown. The author gives a classification of investment funds in terms of the mechanism of formation of transaction costs. Particular importance is attached to the regional features of this mechanism in modern Russian circumstances. The conditions of successful operation of the regional and federal management companies in the governance of the investment funds are formulated.
