Abstract
In the course of history the city eventually is taken as something opposing to nature while nature is seen as being somewhere outside of city limits. In line with modern theories city is treated as a hybrid of nature, technology and architecture and a center of intricate dialectical relations between nature and culture. City is viewed as an unstable eco system with a specific mechanism of self-regulation. Still, urban territories possess a good deal of recourses for nature tourism. The example of Yekaterinburg demonstrates the potential of operating weekend tours within city limits.
