Abstract
The article considers the phenomenological approach as a tool for studying and understanding the contemporary dance. The author suggests that a phenomenological approach is the most accurate way to analyze this specific form of the artistic reflection. The article examines the experience of American post-modern сhoreographers in connection with philosophical phenomenology. Moreover, the author attempts to systematize some phenomena in contemporary dance and modern choreography.
