Abstract
The article is dedicated to the original manifestation of the catch-up modernization phenomenon – the so-called «catch-up type of culture». The author alludes to a certain matrix development of specific cultures, which due to certain historical and cultural fluctuations were outside the dominant paradigm of the world cultural process. The typological characteristics of this culture type and its most immanent processes have been discussed.
