Abstract
The political discourse represents semiotic space in which the current meanings are realized and the struggle for power is carried. The desire of politicians to enhance the impact on the target audience motivates them to prefer visual forms of representation. The most important part of the Russian political discourse is the concept of «Homeland». Its visual representation in campaign materials of the Russian parties is quite varied, but in general it indicates a stagnation of the domestic political discourse which used to reclaim already known and too traditional meanings and forms of representation.
