Abstract
The article explores the fabric dyeing process in the traditional Japanese «sibori» fabric dyeing technique. The historical survey was presented. In the course of the research the history of the dyeing technique was reviewed, the specific features of different fabric dyeing methods were revealed and the materials and instruments used were described. The results were put into practice for designing a creative cloths collection.
