Modern National and Cultural Integration: Reality or Impractical Project?

The article presents a comprehensive review of global national and cultural integration trends. It attempts to describe and to examine the reciprocal processes of national and cultural integration and cultural self-identification strengthening as well as to distinguish criteria and conditions of cultural integration. The article also highlights main problems of national-cultural integration and the factors that might impede the free flow of the world cultures consolidation. The author emphasizes that ideological grounds of national-cultural integration are weak and undeveloped; economic and political factors make it dependent. On this basis he seeks to assess the current feasibility of cultural integration project.
