Abstract
The paper discusses the problem of the city symbol. The article consists of two parts. The authors show the deep metaphysical links between the city name and historical events and facts of history of Ekaterinburg in the first, phenomenological, part of the article. The city appears here as a living organism and a personality. The second part of the work is semiotic and iconographic illustration of ideas and theses of the first part.
