Abstract
The article discusses the main factors influencing the formation of cultural and geographical images of territory, the problems of incoming and domestic tourism development in the cities of Sverdlovsk region and the role of cultural and geographical images of the Ural cities among these problems. It denotes the role of local communities in geographical images formation, as well as the perspectives of operate with these images for the progress of tourism in the region.
