Abstract
This article is devoted to the consideration of significant changes undergone by Jesuit philosophy in the modern era. It reveals the reasons of the conceptual transformation of the Jesuit vision of man and his place and role in society. The Jesuits are forced to adapt their teaching to the realities of the time, resulting in a change in social priorities and refocusing on a more massive and active social categories of Western population. The author shows what main goals and challenges facing the Order today are: the promotion of social justice and equality, the assistance to socially disadvantaged sectors of society, the desire to unite all branches of the Christian religion.
