Abstract
The topicality of this study is determined by the need to integrate a variety of approaches and methods explaining magic in a creative synthesis. The article examines the specifics of the integrative approach to understanding magic, which is implicitly contained in the works of D. V. Pivovarov. This approach, in our opinion, is a logical consequence of the synthetic concept of culture, which he had developed. The research methods are analytical, synthetic, hermeneutic and phenomenological ones, and their complex application based on integrative approach allows considering the role of magic in the history of culture more comprehensively.
