Abstract
The article deals with the phenomenon of nostalgia for the Soviet past among Russians including those who caught the Soviet past, and those who were born after the collapse of the USSR, – special attention is paid to Generation Z. The author compares the values of the Soviet man and the representative of the "digital generation" and examines in detail the reasons for this nostalgia. The author considers the thesis that the syndrome of nostalgia for the time of the Soviet Union is built primarily on the reconstruction of the romanticized symbols and mythologization of the Soviet culture.
