Abstract
The article analyzes the problems of the dispute between Westerners and Slavophiles concerning the emergence and crystallization of Russian national musical culture in the XVIII–XX centuries. The author considers the Western (in genesis and semantics) nature of the project "Russian national school", the conflict of theory and practice of Slavophiles, as well as the formation of the platform of integration as a project that combines the ideas and practices of both debating camps.
