Abstract
The article deals with the estimation of the dynamics of total factor productivity (TFP) by the type of economic activity in Russia, in 2004–2018. One can see, that the slowdown in the TFP growth rate is explained, first of all, by its negative dynamic in such sectors as mining and public administration. In the two-factor model used the fixed capital productivity decreased to the greatest extent. Also, a negative correlation is shown between the growth of total resource use and the dynamics of total productivity between sectors of the Russian economy, which is the evidence of low effectiveness of the use of resources. This pattern intensified especially after 2008 and continued to grow after 2014. Calculations showed that the largest volumes of resources were directed to industries with low or negative dynamics of TFP, which reduced its growth in the economy as a whole.
