Abstract
The work reflects on the artistic phenomenon of petro-art created by artists from Yekaterinburg Boris and Natalia Khokhonov. The authors analyze the nature of this pictorial style, its features and distinctive features. The nature of the Urals and the cultural atmosphere of Yekaterinburg make it possible to speak of the organic synthesis of decorative and fine arts. The authors use the methods of philosophical hermeneutics, artistic interpretation, phenomenological philosophy, scientific analysis, general cultural synthesis, semiotics and literary criticism when describing, analyzing and decoding things obtained in the process of obtaining paintings in the style of petro-art. The results of the analysis prove and convince that attention to the regional, local, natural-natural - does not generate another eclecticism, not an artificial combination, but returns us to the origins of the nature of fine art and art in general. The work draws attention to a powerful cultural resource that may be useful for tourist, art, museum investments not only in the Ural region but also within the borders of the entire Russian Federation.
