Abstract
This article discusses the algorithm of interaction of the ‘European’ and the ‘non-European’ in national composer’s schools of the XIX-XX centuries. The author’s focus is on a shift in aesthetic priorities, the beginning of the formation of national schools under the influence of romantic nationalism, the development of an approach to working with folklore material from the inclusion of the latter in the pan–European context to the introduction of “local material” on an analytical basis. The author includes musicological realities in the philosophical and cultural context on the basis of a dialogical approach and memetics.
