The Regional Aspect of Financial Services Market Formation: Problems of Scientific Definition

In order to understand the essence of the category “regional financial services market”, this study has examined the various definitions that exist at this stage. Using the paradigms of the theory of regional economics, the presented definitions are classified depending on their content. Based on the results of the analysis, it is concluded that it is expedient to apply three paradigms simultaneously (‘region as a quasi-state’, ‘region as a market’, and ‘region as a society) to reflect the versatility of the category under study.
