Abstract
At present, human security is becoming an acute issue for the entire world community due to the increased risk of the surrounding space, provoked by a multitude of new challenges and threats. In the field of security, mental security has a special place. At the same time, mental security and national mentality as a set of rules and principles aimed at achieving predictable and conflict-free co-existence are one of the key elements of national security in general. The purpose of the study is to consider ways of combating social violence as a factor in ensuring mental security. In this study, analysis, categorization, systematization, and comparison were used. Violation of mental security has long-term negative consequences for the entire nation. That is why responding to this threat needs to be forward-thinking. The article considers precisely those methods of countering violence and increasing mental security (propaganda, revival of traditional values, use of the latest technical developments), which are implemented in areas such as education, upbringing, etc. The work examines the Russian and foreign experience of social violence, as well as methods of countering it. A separate section is devoted to violence in schools and ways to combat it. It is assumed that effective ways of combating social violence and ensuring mental security will be to increase trust between members of society and in the bundle of relations “society-state”, to improve the population’s ability to adapt to conditions of uncertainty, and to qualitatively change the image of the country in order to defend its statehood and subjectivity in the international arena.
