Abstract
The article reveals the principal ideas explored in the reports presented at the plenary session and sections of the II International Women’s Forum “Strong Family – Foundation for the State”. The forum brought together a diverse group of participants, including Russian and foreign public and political figures, employees of international organizations, and women leaders of social innovations. The main trends in the field of demography and family policy in the world and Russia are outlined, the peculiarities of the transformations of the modern institution of the family in Russia and Western countries are disclosed, the nature of the change in the role of women in decision-making at the international and domestic levels is demonstrated. The uniqueness of modern Russian feminism, which promotes the idea of balance between family and social realization in a woman’s life, is stated, the increasing role of women’s leadership in the international arena and the significant interest of international organizations in intensifying this process are noted.
