Abstract
The article explores emerging paradigms of innovative territorial development amid global transformation and regional differentiation. It argues that traditional models, such as the cluster approach and the triple helix, no longer adequately address contemporary challenges posed by digitalization and ESG transformation. The methodology employs a comparative analysis of regional innovation systems and evaluates successful adaptation practices in response to global trends. The findings indicate that innovation ecosystems and network-based models are proving to be more effective than conventional structures. Case studies from Estonia and Singapore underscore the significance of local adaptability, whereas failures in Barcelona and Kenya illustrate the risks of neglecting contextual factors. Leading innovative nations combine advanced digital infrastructure with adaptive governance, while other regions require stronger institutional frameworks and human capital development to boost competitiveness.
