Abstract
This article examines the concept and essence of social justice. The article presents the attributes of social justice as a crucial constitutional value. It argues for the centrality of social justice within the system of constitutional values, serving as their core. It is noted that constitutional values are not always directly enshrined in the Basic Law. At the same time, the principle of justice is reflected in the Constitution of the Russian Federation, namely in the preamble; in Article 7, which proclaims a welfare state; in Chapter 2, which enshrines the rights and freedoms of man and citizen; and in one of the 2020 constitutional amendments regarding the formation of the pension system. The article analyzes problems associated with violations of the principle of social justice in the social, economic, political, and other spheres. It is concluded that social justice requires further constitutionalization, i.e., its embodiment in subconstitutional acts (federal and regional laws, bylaws), as well as constitutional and judicial regulation.
