Abstract
The article explores the problem of cultural and professional competencies formation for the future fashion designers. The author focuses on specific engineering design objectives, considers various forms of students’ learning and project activities organization, as well as learning activities choice criteria. Psychological and educational conditions favorable for competencies development, such as engineering project training are distinguished. The paper also stresses the role of a teacher who has valuable creative knowledge and skills in project activities.
