Abstract
The article is devoted to the topical problem of the present, because there is no officially recognized and uniform methodology, whereas it is absolutely necessary for the calculation of compensation and financial assistance to victims of all kinds of disasters and terrorist attacks. The authors carried have elaborated the definition of the equivalent value of human life, analyzed the use of different methodologies and indicators comparing Russia with developed countries.
