Abstract
The simultaneous production and consumption of electricity, and thus the maintenance of an electrical energy balance at any given time, is one of the characteristics of electrical power systems. At the same time, the power consumption depends on the intensity and time distribution of production and economic activity, which is characterized by a daily unevenness with a morning and evening maximum. This feature of the energy consumption process significantly increases the cost of energy itself, thereby increasing the energy burden on the economy. The article offers a conceptual justification and methodological apparatus for smoothing the unevenness of the daily schedule of electrical load for an individual and aggregated consumer of electricity, illustrates the commercial effectiveness of investments in organizational, economic, innovative and technical measures for smoothing on the basis
of rapidly changing prices of the wholesale electricity market. The concept and tools of
quantification of energy savings by means of a single cell are presented. An estimation of the
impact of the appearance of new technological methods of schedule adjustment on the scale of
the Urals Unified Energy System is given.
